Mold Prevention & Remediation
Proactive mold prevention during water damage restoration. Antimicrobial treatments and HEPA air scrubbing to protect your home and family.
What Is Mold Prevention?
Mold can begin growing within 24-48 hours of water damage. Our mold prevention protocol starts during extraction and continues through the entire drying process. We apply EPA-registered antimicrobial treatments to affected surfaces, deploy HEPA air scrubbers to filter airborne spores, and create containment zones when necessary. Prevention is always more effective and less expensive than remediation.
When You Need It
During every water damage restoration — mold prevention should be part of every mitigation effort. Also needed when existing mold growth is discovered during the restoration process, or when water damage occurred more than 24 hours before treatment began.
Our Process
Assessment
We evaluate the risk of mold growth based on water category, duration of exposure, and affected materials.
Containment
When necessary, we establish containment barriers to prevent spore spread to unaffected areas.
Antimicrobial Treatment
EPA-registered antimicrobial solutions are applied to all affected surfaces to prevent mold colonization.
HEPA Air Scrubbing
HEPA air scrubbers run continuously to capture airborne mold spores and improve air quality.
Clearance Verification
Visual inspection and moisture verification confirm that conditions no longer support mold growth.
Insurance Coverage
Mold prevention during water damage mitigation is typically covered as part of the overall claim. Pre-existing mold or mold from long-term neglected leaks may not be covered. Check your policy for mold coverage limits.

How quickly does mold grow after water damage?
Mold can begin growing within 24-48 hours in the right conditions (moisture, warmth, organic material). This is why fast response and professional drying are critical.
Will I be able to smell mold?
Not always. Mold often grows in hidden spaces — behind walls, under floors, above ceilings. A musty odor is a sign, but absence of odor does not mean absence of mold.
Is the antimicrobial treatment safe for my family and pets?
Yes. We use EPA-registered products that are safe for occupied spaces when applied according to manufacturer guidelines. We provide specific safety instructions for each product used.
Do you handle full mold remediation?
Our primary focus is prevention during water damage restoration. For large-scale existing mold problems, we assess and can coordinate with specialized remediation partners.
